Whitetail Deer and Moose populations have increase over the last few years. Due to the fall of the fur trade, small game animal populations are also increasing. All this extra food combined with a few mild winters has enabled the Wolf population to increase considerably. Actually, there is an over-population of Wolves and scientist have actually been capturing Wolf packs and shipping them down to Yellowstone Park.
In the summer, Wolves are solitary animals and with exception of the alpha male and alpha female, Wolves spend the summer alone. In the fall they start howling at the moon, which is their way of gathering the pack back together for mating and winter hunting.
In the fall and winter, Wolves are fairly easy to find. They concentrate on game trails, especially when Moose and Deer trails cross a lake. This is the perfect opportunity for any hunter to challenge his/her hunting skills and harvest one of these apex predators.
Our Wolf hunt is a special hunt and takes preparation. Please contact us for details.
